But it's those same "relationships established by centuries of systemic racism" which provide the funding for your philanthropy. Assuming you don't believe that YOUR work is an "obstacle to creating a just and equal society", you've painted yourself into a corner of contradiction.

Why bring race into this at all? Your wealth has nothing to do with your race, it has everything to do with your birth.

A much better (and more accurate and believable) position to take would be to just say: "I was born into a great deal of money I didn't earn. Because of that accident of birth, I have the responsibility to direct how those monies are spent. Well, I choose to do good with them. It's unfair that in this world only a very few control so much, but at least we can mitigate that a bit by intentionally spreading it around. This is my way of giving back."
